4AD: Labels Unlimited is a vivid account one of the worlds most respected and important independent record labels. 4AD was started in London in 1979 by Ivo Watts-Russell and Peter Kent, inspired by John Peel's legendary radio shows and pioneering early labels such as Factory and Postcard. Over the ensuing years the label has released a startling array of innovative and brilliant records. Famous for it's eclecticism, 4AD released many of the most important and exciting records of the 1980s.
