The mission of the organsition that publishes the journal is to “preserve and support the cultural diversity and heritage of all traditional and contemporary folk musics, and to encourage making folk music a part of our everyday lives."The journal includes the lyrics and music of songs and, since 2001, a CD which features performances of the songs. Sing Out! also includes articles about musicians, music history and related subjects and reviews and listings. In addition to the quarterly magazine Sing Out!, which is a not-for-profit educational organization, now run a resource centre, a mail-order catalog and a radio programme. |
