The Old Crossroads was possibly played by Old & In The Way in 1973. The song does not appear on any tapes or setlists but was mentioned in a Rolling Stone review of a show at the Lion's Share in San Anselmo.

The song is sometimes called The Old Crossroads Is Waitin'.

The Old Crossroads was first recorded by Bill Monroe in 1947. It is not the same song as the song of the same name that had been performed by The Monroe Brothers in the 1930's. The earlier song, written by James Rowe in 1920, probably influenced the writing of the Monroe song.
