Sweet Georgia Brown was written in 1925 by Maceo Pinkard (1897-1962) with lyrics by Ken Casey (1899-1965). The song was introduced and made popular by the bandleader Ben Bernie who as part of the deal received a percentage of the songwriting credits even though he had no involvement with the writing.
