Tell It To Me
Composer: Traditional

Tell It To Me was performed 3 times by the Grateful Dead in acoustic sets in 1970. The song was also performed 3 times by Jerry Garcia and David Grisman in the early 1990's. It was also played by Phil Lesh & Friends in 2015 during a show that featured Grateful Dead music from 1970. Phil Lesh also played the song with The Brothers Comatose and members of the Terrapin Family Band in 2015

Tell It To Me is often listed on Grateful Dead related set lists and tape labels as either Cocaine Blues or Cocaine Habit Blues. But it is neither of these. See the Cocaine Habit Blues and Cocaine Blues pages for recordings of Cocaine Habit Blues, Take A Whiff On Me and Cocaine Blues.

Tell It To Me was first recorded by the Tenneva Ramblers (aka the Grant Brothers) in Johnson City, Tennessee in 1928. The Tenneva Ramblers were Claude Grant (Guitar & Vocals), Jack Grant (Mandolin), Jack Pierce (Fiddle) and Claude Slagle (Banjo).
