Grateful Dead: Fillmore West 1969

A 10 CD box set of all the music from the February 27th to March 2nd, 1969 Grateful Dead shows at the Fillmore West was released in 2005. A 3 CD distillation of this music was also released. Some of this music was originally released on the 1969 Live/Dead album.

The Fillmore West was based in a building on Market Street and Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco. Bill Graham took over the operation of the venue, which had earlier been the Carousel Ballroom, in July 1968 and renamed it the Fillmore West. The Fillmore West closed in July 1972 with a series of concerts that were recorded and filmed for the Fillmore: The Last Days album and movie.
