Kaw-Liga
Composer: Hank Williams / Fred Rose

Kaw-Liga was played by the New Riders Of The Purple Sage during a show that is thought to have been on August 7, 1969. This was one of the first NRPS shows. Jerry Garcia and Mickey Hart were members of the band at that time and Phil Lesh is possibly on bass.

Kaw-Liga was recorded by Hank Williams in September 1952. The single version was released shortly after his death in January 1953. The song stayed at the top of the country charts for over 3 months in the first half of 1953.
