The song was performed by Phil Lesh with the SFSC All-Stars during a set of Dylan songs on March 20, 2009. It was also performed by Phil Lesh & Friends in 2012 when the group covered the Blood On The Tracks LP.

Bob Dylan recorded Idiot Wind a few times between September and December 1974. It was frst released on the Blood On The Tracks album in January 1975.
