The Youngbloods Discography

The Youngbloods were formed in 1966 as a duo of Jesse Colin Young and Jerry Corbitt. They were originally based on the East Coast. The Youngblood name derived from a 1965 solo album recorded by Young using the title Jesse Colin Young & The Youngbloods. Lowell Levinger (aka Banana) and Joe Bauer joined the group prior to recording demos for Mercury. These tracks were not released until 1971. They recorded two LPs for RCA in New York. The single Get Together released in 1967 was a chart success in that year and in 1969. The Youngbloods moved to the Bay Area in 1967 and recorded their third album on the West Coast. Jerry Corbitt left the group during the recording of the third album.

The Youngbloods continued as a trio and moved to Warner Brothers who gave them their own imprint Raccoon. They released four albums on the label between 1970 and 1972. The first two being live recordings, the last two being with an expanded line-up that included Michael Kane and featuring mainly covers. The group split up in early 1972.

Young, Corbitt and Banana have in recent years performed and recorded together but have not used the Youngbloods name.
